BAND MEMBERS

Bass, Vocals

Dutch born, Vancouver grown, and now Abbotsford resident Johan brings a basket full of experience to JAMR and is having a great time in the band. Playing double bass and electric bass, he comes from big bands and small combos in the jazz world (The Moonlighters, The Urbana Jazz Ensemble, Now’s the Time, Linda Szentes and Jazzlinks, Groovedaddy). Has played and recorded in Bluegrass groups, (JD Miner, Blue Magnolia). Large Rhythm and Blues bands, (Big City Soul, Top City), a Joe Cocker tribute show (Feelin’ Alright), plus Broadway Musicals (With Secondary Characters), and symphonies (Fraser Valley Symphony and Chilliwack Metropolitan Orchestra). All in all it’s a bunch of notes on a bass and he loves every minute of it.

Guitar, Vocals

Art is an acomplished lead guitar player and prolific singer/songwriter, that has cowritten many songs with various lyricists over the last 40 years.  Born and raised in Vancouver Canada, he spent years playing in various areas throughout BC, before moving to Toronto.  He played at places like '727 Lounge' in Montreal and did a number of tours in the Maritimes.  Art has found a permanent home writing, playing, recording and giging with his original band JAMR.

Keys, Harmonica, Vocals

 A native Ottawan, Mark hitchhiked to Vancouver in his mid teens and got involved in the 1970's local music scene.  He has performed with local bands like Thin LIne, Cinnamon Skwerl, TOAD, and The Otis Kry Band, amoung others.  Sole proprieter of LittleHorse Entertainment, Mark has spent the last few decades supporting the local Lower Mainland live music scene through band promotions, managing venue bookings, volunteering at festivals and supporting the Fraser Valley Blues Society.  He continues to run LittleHorse Studios in Langley where JAMR and previous bands have developed their talents and shows.  

Percussion, Saxaphone, Vocals

Hailing from the Fraser Valley, Robert has spent the last 40 years playing in a number of Blues, Jazz and Rock cover bands and has contributed to a few original projects as well.  He is a drummer that also plays Saxaphone (not at the same time) and is as comfortable with Djembes, Bongos and Congas as he is behind a drum kit.
